Sakura Saku

This photo was taken on March 18, 2006 at the park next to our house here in Kamakura. Saskura flower was ready to bloom. You can see the flowers are kinda popped out.
And this shot was taken on March 21, 2006, just 4 days later. Look some of Sakura flower is blooming!! The news says it's a bit earlier this year. Sakura is a national flower of Japan, and we all LOVE sakura so much. People are waiting and waiting to see when it'll start blooming. When it's at its the best time, we always have "Hanami Party" under sakura trees. Very nice!

Hi Gina.
Oh, can you?
I really love the smell of Ume and Sakura. They both tell me that spring is here with me!

Yes, your photos are amazing! By the way can you answer a question for me? Do you know if we are allowed to make things from the Aranzi books and fabric or stamps and then sell them at our shops?

you're taking good pictures of flowers kumi! the first day of spring was yesterday here but it's still cold and rainy.

Hi Gina.
The best way to check is go to their website and ask.
I don't think it's possible to sell with their product as they got "licenses" or "rights".
I don't recommend to sell at your own store, Gina.

Hi Joyce.
We had lots of rain at the begining of the month, too.
But now it's so sunny and so beautiful!
I feel so much alive, Joyce!

beautiful flowers, indeed. i love cherry blossoms!
our trees are still "barenaked", not the slightest bit of green... not to talk about blossoms! winter is still going on and we´re hoping on some warm days (we had only 2 until now).

Okay thanks kumi. That's a good idea, I'll shoot them an email. I appreciate you answering for me!

I sent them an email. I don't know how long it will take them to get to it if they do, but I'll let you know what happens.

Beautiful pictures, as usual! I wish we had sakura here, but it might not survive this Texas desert heat. :)

Your photos are always so great! I love sakura blossoms, they are my favorite! Here in DC, the cherry blossom trees are almost in bloom and the festival is on its way, I can't wait!
I was wondering if you use a digital or film camera? These pictures are so wonderful!

Wow, those pictures pop! You can almost reach out and touch those flowers. Spring here in the Rockies started snowy and icy but today in the 50's and sunny. What does the Sakura and Ume smell like?

They are beautiful and I love that song kids sing in Japanese about the flower "Sakura, sakura...noyamamo.." etc. I added your blog to my bookmarks : )

Hi madhatter.
I guess lots of people love cherry blossoms as it's so gorgeous. My co-workers are back from our HQs in North Germany and they all said it was still freezing cold!!

Kumi said...

Hey Gina.
Have you heard from them yet? I bet it takes time to get back to you.

Hi handmade girl.
I agree with you that Sakura won't survive a year in Texas with the heat and dry air! Enjoy the photos, then!

Hi Christina.
I've been to DC when the Sakura was in bloom back in 1980s. That was lovely. I use digital camera to take my photos. I don't even remember where I kept film camera!!

Hi Stasia.
Thanks for your kind words!

Hi Jessica.
Ume and Sakura smells different. Oh, gosh! But it's so hard to describe with words!! You can tell that spring is here when you smell them, though. Umm, I hope one day we can exchange smells via PC...

Hi Lizette.
You know the "Sakura" song? My daughter also sings it now. It's a lovely song of Japanese heart!

Hi Mangetsu.
You live close to my place? I now wonder which town you live... I hope you enjoyed your weekends visiting my town!! Today is "mankai" in my neighborhood, it looks like. We'll have to organize a small "Hanami" party at late evening...

No nothing yet. I hope they do get back to me, since they sell things in English and a note I got with my last order was also in English I am assuming they understood what I said!

Kumi said...

Hi Gina.
I guess they just kept you waiting. I'm pretty sure they already set up their policy against it!

Hi Mangetsu.
Oh, you live near Machida?
I'm not familiar with that area, but we've been to the outlet mall once!
Yes, living in Kamakura is so great. I commute to Chiyoda-ku every single day and I feel so much refreshed every time I come home!
How's living in Machida area?
